TC3 hosted our 2nd annual workshop on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research on May 27, 2026 at the Chestnut Conference Centre at the University of Toronto.
Co-led by past and current TC3 fellows, Dr. Justin Matheson and Dr. Catharine Mielnik and Christina Pereira, the event convened people with lived experience, alongside, researchers, and trainees, to explore both the challenges and opportunities of advancing EDI in research.
The workshop featured a dynamic program that explored how diverse perspectives can drive innovation and create more inclusive practices in cannabis and cannabinoid research.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from an exceptional lineup of speakers and panelists who shared their cutting-edge research and personal insights.
This year, the event drew a national audience as it was held alongside the 2026 Canadian Cannabis Research Summit.
The event was a resounding success, providing participants with valuable insights and actionable strategies to foster EDI in cannabis and cannabinoid research.
